Charitable trust

Duddingston Primary School has a well established Charitable Trust to support and improve the life and work of the school..

What do we do?

  • Apply for funding to grant-making organisations.
  • Organise the gardening group.
  • Manage the income from the solar panels.

Priorities for the CT are currently:

  • Fund resources for the Nurture Room
  • Fund additional resources to enhance outdoor education
  • Contribute to the school’s inclusion fund
  • Contribute to theatre/arts/music performances and experiences

Chair of CT: currently vacant

Secretary of FET: Kathleen Vaughn

Treasurer: Greg Reid

The Trust’s charitable purpose is to provide resources supplementary to Local Authority funding to advance the educational experiences of the children who attend Duddingston Primary School and Nursery. Members of the Trust are parents/carers with a child or children who attend the school or nursery (we can have up to 12 members). The organisation is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with the charity number SCO044754.

Solar panels for Duddy

At the beginning of 2020 following an amazing fundraising response by the school, the pupils, parents/carers and the surrounding community, the Trust organised the installation of solar panels on the nursery roof. Additional funding was also given by Scottish Power’s Energy Network and the British Airways Carbon Fund. We also received advice, support and a loan (now repaid!) from the CARES team at Local Energy Scotland.
